A virtual community of 3-Day walkers has sprung up on the web! Visit the
sites of fellow Bay Area walkers and learn about their personal stories, goals and
perseverance:

Jo Learn about Mary Jo and Dean's personal struggle with breast cancer. Their
story of love, hope, courage and survival will inspire you and and their sense of humor in
the midst of such incredible challenges will lift your spirits and remind you

July 2002 SF 3-Day. Visit their fun and informative site to learn about their exciting experiences on the walk.
- Lisa Visit Lisa's informative
and comprehensive site to learn more about what it's like to walk in the Avon 3-Day (she
participated in the Los Angeles 1999 walk). Her site is chock full of insights and
personal anecdotes and her FAQ is a must-read for 3-Day newbies.

3-Day website Learn about upcoming 3-Day walks in your area, find out how you
can particpate as a walker, volunteer or crew member, read about how your donations are
making a difference in the fight against breast cancer, and much, much more.
- "Compassion and Hope in 60 Miles of Shared Moments" by Jodi Wilgoren
A New York Times journalist gives an inspirational first-hand account of the Boston
3-Day.
- The Breast Cancer Fund
A charity organization that puts together "Climb Against the Odds," inspiring
journeys of breast cancer survivors and other dedicated supporters who scale
some of the world's tallest mountains to raise money and awareness for the battle against
the breast cancer. A very powerful and moving documentary about the Mt. McKinley
expedition aired on PBS this April, on the year anniversary of my Aunty Mary's passing.
The courage and dedication of these climbers was a wonderful commemoration to my aunty's
own compassion and will to live. I recommend watching the documentary if you can it
will lift your spirits! You can purchase a videotape copy on the Breast Cancer Fund site.
