Breast Cancer Online Resources

Here are a few websites where you can find more information about breast cancer:

  • The official Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day website — Learn about upcoming 3-Day walks in your area, find out how you can particpate as a walker, volunteer or crew member, read about how your donations are making a difference in the fight against breast cancer, and much, much more.
  • "Compassion and Hope in 60 Miles of Shared Moments" by Jodi Wilgoren — A New York Times journalist gives an inspirational first-hand account of the Boston 3-Day.
  • The Breast Cancer Fund — A charity organization that puts together "Climb Against the Odds," inspiring journeys of breast cancer survivors and other dedicated supporters who scale some of the world's tallest mountains to raise money and awareness for the battle against the breast cancer. A very powerful and moving documentary about the Mt. McKinley expedition aired on PBS this April, on the year anniversary of my Aunty Mary's passing. The courage and dedication of these climbers was a wonderful commemoration to my aunty's own compassion and will to live. I recommend watching the documentary if you can — it will lift your spirits! You can purchase a videotape copy on the Breast Cancer Fund site.
  • The Komen Foundation — Information on breast cancer and the foundation. Take the Komen NetQuiz to test your knowledge of breast cancer health.
  • The National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations — Links to breast cancer resources, support groups, clinical trials and much more.
  • Breast.Cancer.Com — An informative site powered by PlanetRx. Includes health news, products, prevention advice and more.
